Welcome to Stablewood Coastal Cottages

Stablewood Coastal Cottages was established in August 2011, following the acquisition of Heather Cottages.

Stablewood Coastal Cottages is a family run business, whose goal is to provide a personal and responsive service that is centred around having a portfolio of high quality holiday accommodation, that all have their own uniqueness whilst maintaining the Stablewood Brand.

The business is owned by Tina Johnson and is run with the help of her sons Daniel and Jonathan Johnson.

In January 2012, we refurbished Heather Cottages and in July 2012 we added a brand new Norweigan log home, this being known today as Brown Owl Lodge. In May 2013 we added a further log cabin,  this being called Grey Heron Lodge. Both of these lodges are situated immediately behind Heather Cottages.

In July 2013, we added Lucker Cottages to our Collection, the names of these being Red Fox & Roe Deer. Lucker Cottages have been specifically designed & built as luxury cottages to help cater for every need of our guests. Both cottages can accommodate up to 6 guests per cottage and have recently been awarded 4 star gold awards. Lucker is situated approximately 4 miles from Bamburgh.

In February 2014, Stablewood Coastal Cottages purchased 8 holiday cottages within Lucker from Northumberland Estates to add the ongoing collection of holiday cottages across Lucker and Budle Bay. The 8 holiday cottages consists of 6 cottages called Lucker Steadings and two cottages namely Old Millhouse & Millstone Cottages, which can accomodate up to 11 guests within an interlinking door.

In May 2014, we opened our newly developed Heather House cottages in Budle Bay. 3 luxury cottages overlooking the bay with fantastic panoramic views along the coastline up to Holy Island, the cottages have been purposely built for self-catering accommodation with spacious en-suite bedrooms, enclosed gardens and lovely walks down to the beach, only 300 metres from the back door. Our first development to incorporate Infra-red sauna's in each of the luxury properties.

In November 2014, we opened our newly developed Apple Row Cottages, situated in Lucker village. 3 luxury cottages situated in the heart of Lucker, next to The Apple Inn pub. The cottages have been purposely built for self-catering accommodation with spacious en-suite bedrooms, enclosed patio areas and gardens.

The Business continues to grow and we will be adding further units at Southside Cottages witihin Lucker.  We are also hoping to develop Narrowgate (General Lamberts House) in Alnwick in the near future.

All of our luxury coastal cottages are based in the stunning North East of England, a region steeped in plenty of enchanting history, stunning views and open spaces.

A Short Walk Away...

What could be more delightful than waking up each morning and strolling along a stretch of beach, that all of the self-catering cottages in Budle Bay have access to. Children can enjoy making sand castles while parents look on knowing they are completely safe. Everyone is guaranteed to complete privacy on the mainly deserted beach area so you can let your hair down and enjoy yourself, why not take a picnic down to a sheltered spot watching the waves roll in and taking in the amazing birdlife.
