3. Walk from Craster to Dunstanburgh Castle
The walk from Craster to Dunstanburgh on the Northumberland Coast has been previously nominated as one the top 100 walks in the country. This route is part of a longer walk, managed by the National Trust, from Craster to Low Newton and back offering views of the ruined Dunstanburgh Castle and the vast expanse of Embleton Bay.
On your return to Craster, once you’ve explored the site of Dunstanburgh Castle, we’d recommend dropping into The Jolly Fisherman for a hearty Mother’s Day Sunday lunch! Or if your appetite doesn’t stretch that far, try their world-famous North Sea crab sandwiches.
4. Kirkley Hall Zoo
Fun for all the family; from Alpacas to Cockatoos, Monkeys to Meerkats, Kirkley Hall Zoo offers a great day out with activities and events catered to all ages. 5. Visit Alnwick Castle & The Alnwick Garden
Owned and lived-in by the Duke and Duchess of Northumberland, Alnwick Castle plays host to a wealth of history and fun activities for all ages to enjoy. A short walk from the castle lies The Alnwick Garden.
